As a student at JBNU, I was given the incredible opportunity to represent my university as one of the ambassadors at the Jinan Red Ginseng Festival. Little did I know that this festival would turn out to be an exceptional trip full of cultural exchange, exploration and the discovery of a hidden gem in the heart of Jinan-gun province.Jinan, situated just an hour away from Jeonju, boasts a rich cultural heritage and is famous for its red ginseng and abundant natural resources. Our fundamental assignment as JBNU ambassadors was to promote this vibrant festival to the world, and it was a responsibility we embraced wholeheartedly.

The excitement started with a general tour on the first day, where we were taken to different tourist attractions in Jinan. The characteristic excellence of this region left us in awe. The rich greenery, quiet landscapes, and beautiful mountains blended harmoniously, giving us a tranquil escape from the bustling city life. As ambassadors, we felt a significant sense of pride in promoting such stunning views to the world.

During the visit, we were delighted to discover that Jinan was a melting pot of cultures. Students from different nations had also been chosen as ambassadors, which truly enhanced our involvement. The unique blend of different backgrounds provided an interesting opportunity to engage in intercultural activities. We enthusiastically shared stories about our individual countries, traditions, and customs, bridging gaps and building lasting friendships.The joyous atmosphere continued into the evening, where we gathered for a friendly cultural exchange. The debate was filled with laughter and camaraderie as we immersed ourselves in each other’s music, dance, and food. It was endearing to witness how a shared appreciation for diversity brought us all closer together.After a momentous day, we finished it with a series of games that further strengthened our bonds. The spirit of competition was eclipsed by a sense of unity and cooperation, and we couldn’t help but wonder at the harmony that had spread among us in such a brief period. The second day marked a significant moment in our travels. We had the honor of meeting the governor of Jinan, who warmly congratulated us on our ambassadorial roles. In a grand ceremony, we were formally recognized as ambassadors of the Jinan Red Ginseng Festival. The feeling of pride swelled within us as we realized the significance of our roles in promoting this marvelous event.

The festival itself was an immersive experience that showcased the region's rich social legacy and celebrated the wonders of red ginseng. We meandered through captivating exhibitions, participated in the cultural workshops, and contributed to the festival’s social media presence. The locals’ hospitality made us feel like we were part of their extended family, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.

As ambassadors, we engaged in different activities, such as leading guided tours for 
international guests, partaking in social workshops, and involving ourselves in the festival’s social media presence. The sense of honor and duty that stemmed from being social ambassadors was humbling and strengthening.All throughout the event, we witnessed how the Jinan Red Ginseng Festival served as a bridge between cultures, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation. It was not just a celebration of red ginseng; it was a celebration of the human spirit.

In conclusion, my experience as a Red Ginseng Festival ambassador in Jinan was monumental. I found a hidden gem full of picturesque beauty, social abundance, and warm-hearted individuals. Engaging with students from different corners of the world was a life-changing encounter that strengthened my belief in the power of cultural exchange. As I reflect on those two days in Jinan, I am filled with appreciation for the opportunity to have been be part of this event. I will forever cherish the memories made, the friendships forged, and the valuable lessons learned. Jinan and its Red Ginseng Festival have left a permanent mark on my heart, and I will carry this experience with me as I continue to promote cultural understanding and harmony wherever I go.
