“We strongly support the selection of JBNU for the Glocal 30!”, the Manila City Council strongly declared. In April, President Yang O-bong visited the Philippines and promised close cooperation with the Manila City Council and the Manila Koreatown Association Presidency. On July 18th, the declaration of support ceremony was held for exchange students studying with major universities in the Philippines, and a declaration of support for the successful induction of the Glocal University Project was held. The Manila City Council said, “We are confident that our declaration will contribute to JBNU achieving its vision as a Glocal university, and will contribute to regional development and prosperity of the international community.” In particular, JBNU decided to constitute a “community” through an agreement with the Manila City Council. For this purpose, JBNU will provide the Korean War Veterans Scholarship to Filipino students studying at JBNU to repay the sacrifices of the Filipino soldiers who fought in the Korean War.
