Graduate student Lee Su-min, from the Department of Chemical Engineering, drew attention by announcing her team’s research results that verified the possibility of using vacuoles isolated from yeast as an immune modulator. Lee recently presented the results at the “2023 KSBB (The Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengineering) Spring Meeting and International Symposium” and won the Best Paper Presentation Award. At this symposium, Lee presented a research paper titled “Yeast-derived Vacuoles Inhibit LPS-induced Inflammatory Mediators in Mouse Macrophages”. This research was highly praised for its importance, theoretical contribution, originality, and appropriate methodology. Lee said, “I would like to thank Professor Min Ji-ho and my colleagues for their efforts to carry out meaningful research.” She added, “we plan to expand the applied research."
