Professor Yoo Seung-hwa in the Department of Quantum System Engineering won “CTRA Rising Academic Award” at KSCM (the Korean Society Composite Materials) conference. He was credited for his contribution to the development in the field of composite materials. He serves as an executive of society for the carbon and textile materials field and as the deputy editor of its journal. Last year, he developed a new coating technology that can overcome the surface coating limitations of catheters inserted into the blood vessels of the human body. This research reaped positive results that received worldwide attention and was reported in a renowned academic journal in the field of chemical engineering. Professor Yoo said, “I will continue to focus on research related to carbon, fiber, and composite materials and play a role in the development of radiation-material convergence.”
