Why doesn’t your whole family come out to the library in May? There is a library where families can enjoy reading books: the Jeonju Municipal Library, in Geumam.

When you first enter the library, you can see fantastic artwork. The library selects artwork from different artists every month and is holding small exhibitions this year. Geumam Library started the project ‘Library in Art gallery’ in March 2023. Among the Jeonju libraries, you can appreciate artwork only in the Geumam Library. Each month, the library invites the artists of the exhibition to give speeches or teach classes. Apart from the artwork, there are book sections for children and teenagers. The space for young children, which is on the right side, is called ‘Jarammaru[자람마루]’, and on the left is ‘Duremaru[두레마루]’, for teenagers.

If you take the red staircase to the second floor, you can see the bookshelves replete with books. This space is called ‘Jisikmaru[지식마루]’. These are books for adults. It includes books on employment and career growth. These are good to read when you want to solve problems and implement structural changes at work, among others. In addition, the library has created a new section for art on this floor and has subscribed to art magazines this year. In front of the art section, there is a book curation of about four to five books. It changes monthly with different themes. If you don't know where to find your book of choice, you can find it comfortably by using a tablet PC. There are also comfortable sofas and desks all over the second floor, so you can read books freely.

The highlight is on the third floor. Geumam Library has a terrace with a nice view. If you take the beanbag chair at the entrance, you can put it wherever you want and claim your spot. You can enjoy reading in the warm sunlight and refreshing breeze. If you feel like a coffee, you can use the cafe on the first floor and enjoy a nice coffee with someone!
