Chung Young-taek, the president of the JBNU alumni association, donated 800kg of potatoes to the scholarship foundation earlier this year. These potatoes, the first harvested crops of this year, are significant because they were cultivated with compost and without pesticides. The foundation presented these potatoes to the alumni who were interested in breakfast support for students. The alumni who received the potatoes competitively donated to the foundation, and all the donations will go toward students’ breakfasts. Chung said, “I serve breakfast to the students with the heart of a parent. I am so proud of this work.” He added, “I want to help the students who are caught in a welfare blind spot and I want to help expand businesses for students by collaborating with alumni.” The alumni association donated twenty million won for breakfast to 7300 students.
