Did you watch the recently released film, Yes Man? I often watch the movies which have critical meanings and complicated plots, but something like magic led me to pick up the DVD Yes Man. Maybe I seemed to be attracted by Jim Carrey, who went bungee jumping and shouted, ‘I can say yes to whatever.’
The movie Yes Man was released December 17, 2008. Leading actor Jim Carrey was a man shouting ‘Yes!’ - literally. Before becoming a ‘yes man,’ he was a usual loan official, shouting ‘No’ at all times. He didn’t associate with friends well and didn’t obtain trust from others. To make a long story short, He was a negative man who rented a DVD every night, lonely.
One day, he went to the ‘yes man meeting’, through the introduction of a friend. He vowed to say ‘yes’ to all things in the confusion of the moment. From that day, he experienced various things he had not ever undergone before, such as learning Korean, airmanship, and going bungee jumping.
When riding a snow board, in the beginning, I was scared to death but shouted ‘Yes, Yes, Yes!’ in my mind, forgetting all worries. Although l lost my balance and tumbled over and over, confidence let me get up. I believe the magic of ‘yes’ make me grow internally and lets me know a message that means ‘I can do it if I want’. Maybe I think the same goes for taking change.
Of course, this movie don’t suggest the message that we should say only ‘yes’. The important thing is that we can recognize when to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ with a positive mind.
To CBNU students, l would like to recommend to say ‘yes’ with a smile without condition and dissatisfaction. When I think ‘yes’, I say it means not only ‘okay’ but also ‘I can do it’.
But don’t forget only two rules before saying ‘yes’. First, say ‘yes’ only in the range of your responsibility. Second, say ‘yes’ from your heart, not as a duty or lie.
Now, are you ready to say ‘yes’? I hope all CBNU students have positive energy and can glow with pride by themselves.
